So, this is my first blog post, and I am trying not to over think it. I Have dreamed of this moment for so long! To launch a nonprofit that would provide everything I needed for my children to be successful at school and in our community that I didn’t have and couldn’t afford even if it was available. Please take the time to read my story so you will know where my passion comes from. As a family we have been through so many difficult things! Being the parent of seven children was not for the faint at heart but add on all the disabilities that many of my children deal with and I’m not going to lie, most of the time I felt like God had an inflated opinion of me! More times than not I felt judged, misunderstood, and heartbroken by the way my child was treated. I didn’t feel like I fit in my community and sometimes in my own family. It changed me and not in a good way!  I’m not sure how often I will be adding to the blog because I am more concerned with quality that quantity. If there is a topic that you would like to discuss or want me to research, please let me know. My main goal with my nonprofit and the blog is that no other parent or caregiver will ever feel helpless, lost, and alone in raising children with disabilities. We need each other, as scarry as that can be at times!
